Former QVC Host, Dale Guy Madison will sign his book Dreamboy: My Life as a QVC Host at Benefit Party for Village Health Foundation

Sunday December 6, 2009, 6:00-10:00pm
Jewel's Catch One 4067 W Pico Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90019-4308

Dale Guy Madison will autograph copies of his book, Dreamboy: My Life as QVC Host and Other Greatest Hits, a clever memoir where the stories happen against the backdrop of a Supremes song. Original Supreme, Mary Wilson is expected to attend. The event is free and open to the public.

Books will be available for sale throughout the event. Proceeds from the evening's book sales will benefit the Village Health Foundation (VHF). The Foundation's offices are in the historic Jewel's Catch One Building, a landmark in the LGBT community since 1971. The Foundation provides affordable and accessible complementary medicine. It began as a natural healthcare clinic offering nontoxic treatments for people with HIV/AIDS. Their services now include treatment for a wide range of diseases. They treat clients who are at risk for, or who have already developed diabetes, hypertension, high blood pressure, arthritis and heart disease.

Madison was one of the original hosts for the QVC Fashion Channel 1991-1995 but was recognized for launching the first all African themed shopping program for the network entitled African Marketplace/Destination: Africa.
“It is not just a book signing. I like to think of it as a party with a purpose, a night of inspiration. It is a celebration of dreams. When Jewel Thais-Williams decided to create a clinic for the community, it was her dream of giving back. When I wrote Dreamboy, it was my way of daring to dream. This evening is about dreams, faith and believing. I hope people walk away inspired to go for their dreams."
