OUTspoken for Equality Applies for Marriage License

Just got word that Kitty Lambert from OUTspoken for Equality and her partner went to apply for a marriage license at City Hall today, but, of course, were turned away. Kitty’s true message in this event was how ludicrous anti-Gay Marriage laws are.

Now, I personally don’t know Kitty and her partner – we were only introduced once or twice – but the message is clear. These two women love each other, have provided support and care to one another and probably have a list of pet peeves the other does on a regular basis. Just like any other citizen of the State of New York. But, Kitty could
apply for a license with a young, Gay man she had just met, known to her only as “Ed,” and they could live apart for the rest of their days.

Reminds me of the editorial cartoon we published here on the 5th.

And, it makes no sense. We have a lot to learn about all sides and forces on Gay Marriage.
