Businesses that serve or sell to lesbians, now there's a referrals network for you!

Barb Elgin wants to spread the word about a social network she started several months ago for businesses who serve lesbians solely or primarily.  She also wants to find out if there are other businesses out there who want to do more business with the lesbian community.

The network she's created is called Lez Do Biz! and Barb started it because of her frustrations connecting with other businesses as the owner of a lesbian business serving lesbians (
Coach Sappho - Relationship and Dating Coaching for Lesbians).  She says she knew there were plenty of referral networks out there for straight businesses.  And, of course big business is in it's own league.  But she often runs into obstacles connecting with like-minded lesbian businesses and business owners.  And, despite frequent, passionate outreach to various gay chambers, Barb finds most chambers unable or unwilling to address the needs of the virtually-based, non-Fortune 500 lesbian business.

Barb notes that "It's a big challenge for most small, lesbian-run or focused businesses to find other successful lesbian-focused businesses much less grow quality business partnerships or joint ventures.  In particular it is difficult finding other businesses that are in alignment with your demographic or values.  Add to that the fact that when you are a small business time is very limited and you are wearing all the hats."

Lez Do Biz! was created to help address all of these challenges.  The challenges lesbian-run or lesbian-focused businesses face in growing more successful, visible, etc.

Elgin reports membership is free and the networking happening is already 'paying off' for members who actively participate.
